hirecomb vs WonsultingAI (2026): A Writing Suite, or an Applying Agent

The sharpest sentence written about this category came from a competitor's blog, arguing against their own product: "quantity without quality just means you get rejected faster."
That's Wonsulting, in a post dated August 26, 2025, on why they deprecated their job auto-apply tool. I build an auto-apply tool and I agree with the reasoning. Volume alone stopped working, which is why our product spends most of its effort on what to apply to and what the résumé says when it gets there.
The wrinkle: their AutoApply page is still live. So the fair description of WonsultingAI today is a writing and outreach suite with a review-first AutoApply attached, and a public note from the company that the auto-apply idea has limits.

What WonsultingAI actually is
A suite of writing tools, not an applying machine: résumé bullets, cover letters, networking messages, cold emails, interview prep, and a job tracker, plus AutoApply inside their JobBoardAI product. The AutoApply page is explicit about the control model, "Review and edit everything before submission," and about the geography: "JobBoardAI is currently only available for jobs in the USA."
Pricing is two tiers. Starter is free with no card, and its caps are per feature rather than per application: 5 résumé bullets, 3 cover letters, 3 networking messages, 1 interview prep, 2 cold emails, 30 tracked jobs. Premium is $19.99 a month for unlimited use of those tools, advertised with a 120-day "100% Interviews Guaranteed" claim. A separate human service, "Professional - AutoApply," is $499 for 50 applications.

What hirecomb actually is
A web app plus a Chrome extension, the hirecomb AI Agent. The applying happens inside your own Chrome session: it opens the posting, fills the form from your profile and a résumé tailored to that posting, attaches the file, and submits. If a captcha or an odd form stops it, the tab comes back with every field filled and you click submit. We never ask for your job-site passwords.
Coverage is Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, and Workday, plus the guest-apply forms careers pages wrap around them. No LinkedIn Easy Apply.
Every new posting is scored against your actual résumé rather than a keyword list before it can be queued. The résumé is then rewritten in that posting's wording, with an ATS keyword score before and after and a verification pass that strips invented skills, tools, and numbers before you see the draft. Word files are edited in place, and you approve every version.
Pace is yours: 10, 20, 25, or 50 background applies a day, plus a hard limit of 2 roles per company per rolling 24 hours, because ATSes reject shotgun applies to one employer. Everything sent lands in Applied Jobs with live status and a follow-up reminder.
Plans: $50 a month for 750 auto-applies, $100 for 1,500, $150 for 3,000, or $10 a month for 50 tailored résumés and no auto-apply. Browsing, search, and match scoring are free forever, no card. The trial is the full Pro plan for 7 days with 20 auto-applies.
The honest limitation: nothing sends while Chrome is closed, a real cost if your only machine lives in a bag.

Pick hirecomb if your problem is throughput. The writing is fine; what you can't do is push 30 well-targeted applications a week through Greenhouse and Workday forms while holding down a job. You have to leave Chrome open, and you give up Easy Apply and any portal outside our four ATSes. In exchange, something decides what's worth applying to, rewrites the résumé for it, and sends it.
