hirecomb vs Tsenta (2026): Cheaper Per Application, or Applying From Your Own Browser

Tsenta beats us on price by roughly 2.5x per application and lists more ATSes than we cover. I build hirecomb, and that is still the first thing I would tell you.
Then the split. Tsenta runs on their servers, so applications go out with your laptop shut. hirecomb runs as a Chrome extension in your own browser session, so nothing sends while Chrome is closed.
Pick Tsenta for the lowest cost per application in this bucket, the widest ATS list, and sending that continues with your machine off. Pick hirecomb if you want every application to leave your own browser, scored against your real résumé and tailored with a pass that strips invented claims. What Tsenta actually is
A cloud agent. Tsenta's servers watch what the company calls "50,000+ career pages" and submit a tailored résumé under your identity. Their own competitor roundup puts one submission at 2 to 3 seconds and says the product was "rebuilt three times."
They also built more surface area than anyone else here: eight of them, counting iOS and Android apps, an extension, iMessage and WhatsApp bots, an MCP connector and a CLI.
Pricing is on the page, which in this category is worth saying out loud: Starter $19 a month for 600 applications per 30-day cycle, Pro $39 for 1,500, Power $99 for 4,500, plus 25 free applications with no card. Not published: the annual rates behind the toggle, and fifteen of the nineteen ATSes, since the claim reads "Workday, Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby +15 more."
What hirecomb actually is
A web app plus the hirecomb AI Agent Chrome extension. It opens the posting in your own Chrome, fills the form from your profile and a résumé tailored to that posting, attaches the file and submits. If a captcha stops it, the tab comes back with every field filled and you click submit. We never ask for your job-site passwords. Coverage is Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby and Workday, plus the guest-apply forms careers pages wrap around them.
Every posting is scored against your actual résumé, not a keyword list. The résumé is then rewritten in that posting's wording, and a verification pass strips invented skills, tools and numbers before you see the draft. You approve every version, or send your original.
Pace is yours: 10, 20, 25 or 50 background applies a day, capped at 2 roles per company, because ten reqs at one employer buys ten rejection emails. Every send lands in Applied Jobs with a status and a follow-up reminder.
Plans are Basic $50 a month for 750 applies, Pro $100 for 1,500, Ultra $150 for 3,000. Pro is free for 7 days with 20 applies included. The limitation, plainly: Chrome has to be open, and we do not touch LinkedIn Easy Apply.

Where Tsenta wins
→ Cost per application. About 3 cents on Pro against our 7, on identical 1,500 caps.
→ Sending with your machine off. If your only computer is a work laptop that lives in a bag, a cloud agent does something we cannot.
→ ATS breadth. Nineteen claimed against our four plus guest forms, so they reach iCIMS and Oracle postings we do not.
→ The free tier. Twenty-five applications, no card, no expiry, against our 7-day trial that takes a card up front.
Where hirecomb wins
→ The submission is authentically yours. Cloud submission at volume is the pattern Greenhouse and Workday are built to catch, and a blocked one still reads as "applied" on a dashboard: the AI doom loop.
→ Match, then tailor, then check. The tailored résumé is checked for invented skills and numbers before you see it.
→ A pace ATSes accept. 10 to 50 a day, 2 per company. Deliberately smaller than a cloud agent can print.
Who should pick which
Take Tsenta if volume and price are the constraint and you want it running with the lid shut. More applications per dollar than anything else in this bucket, more ATSes, and a free tier generous enough to test the claim yourself. The trade: a company in the middle submits under your name, and a blocked submission is invisible from outside.
Take hirecomb if you would rather send fewer applications that are certainly arriving. Each is scored, tailored in the posting's wording, checked for anything the model invented, and submitted from the browser in front of you. It costs more because those steps cost something, and it stops when you close your laptop.

Is Tsenta worth it?
It is the cheapest verified option in this bucket: $39 a month for 1,500 applications, about 3 cents each, against roughly 7 cents for hirecomb Pro at the same cap. The 25 free applications with no card let you answer this yourself.
Does Tsenta actually submit applications?
Yes. It is a cloud agent, not an autofill extension: its servers submit a tailored résumé on career pages, and its own comparison post describes a submission taking 2 to 3 seconds. A third of the tools sold as auto-apply only fill the form and wait.
What's the difference between hirecomb and Tsenta?
Where the applying runs. Tsenta uses its own servers, so applications go out while your computer is off, up to 4,500 a month. hirecomb is an extension in your own session, so submissions come from you, stop when Chrome closes, and are capped at 10 to 50 a day.
