hirecomb vs Simplify (2026): One Autofills, One Submits

Simplify will never send an application for you. That isn't a knock on it. That's the product, stated plainly on its own pages, and it's the entire decision here.
I build a competing tool, so weigh that. Everything below is what each product's own pages said on September 8, 2026.
Pick Simplify if you want a free Chrome extension that fills your details into forms across a huge number of career sites and files every one in a tracker, and you're content to click submit yourself. For interns and new grads applying to a few dozen roles, that is often the right answer, and it costs nothing.
Pick hirecomb if the clicking is the part you want gone: matched postings, a résumé rewritten per posting, and the submit actually pressed, from your own browser. The full field is in our 22-tool comparison.
What Simplify actually is
A quick disambiguation first, because the names collide in search results: Simplify (simplify.jobs) is not SimpleApply (simpleapply.ai). Different companies. Simplify autofills. SimpleApply submits from the cloud.
Simplify's core product is a Chrome extension called Copilot. Its own description: it "autofills job applications on 100,000+ company career sites in one click and saves every application to your Simplify tracker." The extension is free.
Read that sentence for what it doesn't say. There is no auto-submit language anywhere on Simplify's pages. The extension fills the form. You review it and press the button. Every application ends up in the tracker, which is genuinely useful when you're forty applications deep and can't remember which companies you already hit.
There's a paid tier, Simplify+, at $19.99 for one week, $39.99 for one month, or $89.99 for three months. Those figures come from Simplify's help center, because simplify.jobs/pricing returns a 404. Subscriptions auto-renew, and Simplify's own help page says "All payments are non-refundable," with a 24-hour exception. If you buy the weekly to get through one push of applications, set a calendar reminder.
Simplify publishes no application caps and names no ATS. Its content is aimed at entry-level, internship and new-grad roles.
What hirecomb actually is
A web app plus a Chrome extension, but the extension does the last step too. It applies inside your own Chrome session: opens the posting, fills the form from your saved profile and a résumé tailored to that posting, attaches the file, and submits. You can watch it. If a captcha or an odd form stops it, the tab comes back with every known field filled and you click submit yourself. We never ask for your job-site passwords.
Coverage is Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby and Workday, plus the guest-apply forms careers pages wrap around them. No LinkedIn Easy Apply. That is far narrower than Simplify's autofill reach, and it's the trade for filling a form well enough to send it unattended.
Every new posting is scored against your actual résumé, not a keyword list. Before a send we rewrite that résumé in the posting's own wording, show the ATS keyword score before and after, and run a verification pass that strips invented skills, tools and numbers out of the draft. You approve every version, or send your original in one click.
Pace is deliberate: a daily cap you set at 10, 20, 25 or 50, and never more than 2 roles at one company in 24 hours. Everything sent lands in Applied Jobs with live status and follow-up reminders.
Plans are Basic $50/mo for 750 auto-applies, Pro $100/mo for 1,500, and Ultra $150/mo for 3,000, plus a $10/mo Resume Tailor plan with no auto-apply. The trial is Pro, free for seven days with 20 real auto-applies.
Our honest limitation: nothing sends while Chrome is closed.

Where Simplify wins

Who should pick which
Take Simplify if you're a student or new grad applying to a manageable number of roles, you want the typing gone but not the judgment, and you want a tracker that costs nothing. It is the better free product, and using it alongside anything else costs you nothing either. If you do buy Simplify+, remember the weekly plan renews and the payments aren't refundable.
Take hirecomb if you're an engineer applying at volume through Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby and Workday career pages, and what you actually want back is the hour a day spent filling and pressing. You'll pay $50 a month minimum, you'll need to leave Chrome open, and we reach fewer sites than Simplify's autofill does. In exchange the applications get matched, tailored, verified, sent, and recorded without you.
