hirecomb vs LazyApply (2026): The Cheapest Applications in the Category, Billed a Year at a Time

LazyApply and hirecomb agree on the part most of this category gets wrong: the application should be submitted by your own browser, not a server in a data center. After that we disagree about nearly everything.
LazyApply is board-first and annual-only: it fills and submits on Easy Apply and job boards, caps you per day, and bills a year up front with no trial. hirecomb is career-page-first and monthly: Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby and Workday, 10 to 50 a day, and a week of Pro before the card is charged.
Pick LazyApply if you want the lowest price per application anywhere and your jobs are on Indeed, ZipRecruiter, Dice and LinkedIn. Pick hirecomb if you want to try before committing a year. The 22-tool comparison has the rest of the field.
What LazyApply actually is
A Chrome extension called Job GPT that fills and submits applications in your browser. The marketing says "our agent handles the entire application process," which reads like a cloud bot, but the mechanism is an extension on your machine. That is the architecture we chose too, and it is the right one.
Three plans, billed annually only: Basic $99 a year, Premium $149, Ultimate $999. Caps are daily, not monthly: 15, 150 and 1,500 applications a day.
Use all 15 a day and the cost per application lands near 2 cents, the cheapest number in the category. That assumes you actually send 5,475 applications in a year.
The terms are strict and published, which counts for something. The FAQ says "No, we don't offer a free trial." A 30-day refund exists, but only under 100 applications used, and a Gmail account is required. Board coverage is stated two ways: the pricing page says "Greenhouse, Dice, Indeed and Ziprecruiter," the services page says "LinkedIn, Indeed, ZipRecruiter." Résumé tailoring is not published.
What hirecomb actually is
A web app plus the hirecomb AI Agent Chrome extension. It opens the posting in your own Chrome, fills the form from your profile and a résumé tailored to that posting, attaches the file and submits. If a captcha stops it, the tab comes back with every field filled and you click submit. We never ask for your job-site passwords. Coverage is Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby and Workday plus the guest-apply forms careers pages wrap around them.
Every posting is scored against your actual résumé, not a keyword list, then rewritten in that posting's wording, with a verification pass that strips invented skills, tools and numbers before you see the draft. You approve every version, or send your original.
Pace is yours: 10, 20, 25 or 50 background applies a day, capped at 2 roles per company, because ten reqs at one employer buys ten rejection emails. Every send lands in Applied Jobs with a status and a follow-up reminder.
Plans are Basic $50 a month for 750 applies, Pro $100 for 1,500, Ultra $150 for 3,000, and Pro is free for 7 days with 20 applies included. The limitation, plainly: Chrome has to be open, and we do not touch LinkedIn Easy Apply.

Where LazyApply wins
→ Price per application. Roughly 2 cents against our 7. Nothing else we priced goes lower.
→ The daily ceiling. Ultimate does 1,500 a day. Our top plan does 3,000 a month.
→ Surfaces we refuse. LinkedIn Easy Apply, Indeed, ZipRecruiter, Dice. We do not touch Easy Apply, so those postings are outside what we do.
Where hirecomb wins
→ You can try it. Seven days of full Pro with 20 real applies. LazyApply's FAQ says there is no trial, billing is annual, and the refund window closes past 100 applications.
→ Match, then tailor, then check. The tailored résumé is checked for invented skills and numbers before you see it.
→ A cap that protects you. Two roles per company a day. Fifteen hundred a day is a volume no applicant tracking system reads as a person.
Who should pick which
Take LazyApply if your search is a volume play on boards and Easy Apply, you expect to still be searching in six months, and $99 up front beats $50 a month. It is the cheapest per application in the category by a wide margin, and it runs in your browser, which is the architecture we would defend too.
Take hirecomb if you want to see it work before committing a year, and the jobs you want sit on company career pages. You send fewer applications and pay more for each, and each is checked for anything the model invented. If your plan is 4,000 applications and hope, that plan stopped working.

Is LazyApply worth it?
At $99 a year for 15 applications a day it is the cheapest per application we found, near 2 cents at the full daily cap. The catch is the commitment: annual billing, no trial, and a refund only within 30 days and under 100 applies used.
Does LazyApply actually submit applications?
Yes. Job GPT is an extension that fills and submits in your own browser, mostly on job boards and LinkedIn Easy Apply. It is in the minority of auto-apply tools that press the button rather than autofilling.
What's the difference between hirecomb and LazyApply?
