hirecomb vs AIApply (2026): One Published Price vs Three Subscriptions

AIApply's Auto-Apply prices are not on AIApply's website. Their pricing and billing article says the plans are "tied to application volume" in six sizes, and that you see the amounts in the app. That decides this comparison for a lot of people before any feature does.
I build hirecomb, so weigh what follows accordingly. Every AIApply fact here came off their own pages on September 8, 2026, the day I priced the whole category.
Pick AIApply if your search is stop-start and you want credits that never burn, if you want a cover letter rewritten for every posting, or if you're applying in a language other than English.
Pick hirecomb if you want the price and the cap before you hand over a card, if you care that the application is sent from your own browser instead of someone's server, and if you want the tailored résumé checked for invented claims first.
What AIApply actually is
Cloud software. The Auto-Apply page says it "submits applications automatically" across supported platforms, so the sending happens on their servers.
It's sold as three separate subscriptions. Two have public prices: Premium at USD 29 a month or USD 144 a year, Interview Buddy at USD 19 a month or USD 99 a year. The third, Auto-Apply, is the one you can't price from the site. Plans come in 100, 250, 600, 750, 1,000, and 2,000 applications, amounts in-app only.
The credit model is the genuinely good part, and I'd rather say so than pretend otherwise. Their wording: "Each credit is one job application," and credits "never expire." Each application comes with "one tailored resume and one tailored cover letter."
There's a limited free tier (a sample cover letter, plus the job board), a student discount, and 13-plus languages. What isn't published is which applicant tracking systems Auto-Apply can fill: the site says "thousands of sources" and names none.
What hirecomb actually is
A web app plus a Chrome extension. The extension applies inside your own Chrome session: it opens the posting, fills the form from your saved profile and a résumé tailored to that posting, attaches the file, submits. You can watch it. Captcha or odd form, and the tab comes back with every known field filled for you to click submit. We never ask for your job-site passwords.
Coverage is Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, and Workday, plus the guest-apply forms careers pages wrap around them. No LinkedIn Easy Apply.
Every new posting is scored against your actual résumé, not keywords. When one clears, the tailoring pass rewrites the résumé in the posting's wording with an ATS score before and after, and a verification pass strips any skill, tool, or number the model invented. You approve every version.
You set the pace: 10, 20, 25, or 50 applies a day, capped at 2 roles per company per rolling 24 hours, because ATSes reject candidates who fire at eight reqs at one employer in an afternoon. Everything sent lands in Applied Jobs with live status and follow-up reminders.
Basic is $50/mo for 750 auto-applies, Pro $100/mo for 1,500, Ultra $150/mo for 3,000, and the trial is Pro free for seven days with 20 real auto-applies. The honest limitation: nothing sends while Chrome is closed.

→ Credits never expire. Their words. Pause for six weeks and nothing burns. Our monthly cap resets whether you used it or not.
→ A fresh cover letter per application. AIApply writes one tailored letter for each application. hirecomb fills cover-letter fields from a single standing letter generated from your résumé, which you can edit but which doesn't change per posting.
→ 13-plus languages and a student discount. Outside the English-speaking market, that beats anything in our column.
Where hirecomb wins
→ You see the price before you sign up. $50, $100, $150, caps printed next to them. AIApply's Auto-Apply price is in-app.
→ The submission comes from your browser. Your Chrome, your session, your logins untouched, at a pace you set. A server submitting under your name is the traffic pattern career sites are built to catch, and when it's caught the dashboard still says "applied."
→ Named ATSes. Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday. You can check whether your target companies are reachable before paying. "Thousands of sources" isn't checkable.
Who should pick which
Pick AIApply if your search runs in bursts and you hate watching a monthly cap evaporate, if you want a cover letter rewritten for every posting, or if you're applying in a language the US tools ignore. Be ready to create an account before you can compare its Auto-Apply price with anything else.
Pick hirecomb if you want a smaller, more boring promise: one price, a cap you set, applications sent from your own browser onto Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, and Workday, each matched to your résumé first. You'll pay more per application than most of this category. What that buys is applications that arrive, and a record of every one.
